The Chinese New Bullet Trains between Shanghai and the eastern city of Hangzhou

Chinese officials say that a bullet train travelling at 262 miles per hour has set the world record for the fastest scheduled train.
Two bullet trains travelled between Shanghai’s western suburbs to mark the opening of a new high speed rail line, breaking the world record for commuter trains along the way.

China has shown remarkable economic growth in the past 2 years. China is believed by many to be the next great power, with U.S. influence slowly waning. The U.S. owes billions of dollars to China and China holds the world’s largest reserves of U.S dollars in the world. This means that China could theoretically bring down the American economy if it decided to off load its dollar reserve. Analysts say this is unlikely to happen, however, given the symbiotic relationship between China’s economy and the American market.
