The $1billion boat arrives in Britain: World’s biggest cruise ship Harmony of the Seas

Welcome: A small crowd turned out to wave in the Harmony of the Seas as it sailed into Southampton shortly after 6am this morning

The $1billion boat arrives in Britain: World’s biggest cruise ship Harmony of the Seas rules the waves as it docks in Southampton ahead of maiden voyage

  • Harmony Of The Seas is a 1,188 foot and 227,000-ton cruise ship - the newest and biggest the world has ever seen
  • Worth £800m, it boasts the Ultimate Abyss - the tallest slide at sea - as well as seven separate ‘neighbourhoods’
  • Stood on its stern the ship would soar above the Shard, the Eiffel Tower and the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai
  • It is 330ft longer than the Titanic, and can carry a human cargo of 8,880 including 2,100 crew from 77 countries

//

The largest cruise ship in the world – measuring more than four football pitches in length with a maximum capacity for 6,780 passengers – has docked in Southampton for final preparations before its maiden voyage.
A small crowd of well-wishers, including some dressed in their pyjamas, welcomed the £800million Harmony of the Seas as it arrived just after dawn today, but tens of thousands of people are expected to visit the coastal city this week to catch a glimpse of the gigantic vessel before it carries paying customers for the first time.
After sailing from a shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and spending the day yesterday cruising the English Channel, Harmony of the Seas sailed up Southampton Water and arrived at Southampton shortly after 6:15am.
It will depart on a short cruise on Sunday – a four-day taster voyage to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands – and on 29 May will make its maiden voyage to Barcelona, where it will be based for 34 seven-night tours of the western Mediterranean this summer. It will sail between Florida and the Caribbean this winter.
Royal Caribbean International’s 18-deck ship has set new records for length (1,1188ft), gross tonnage (227,000), width (215.5ft), passenger capacity (5,479 at double occupancy or a maximum of 6,780) and staterooms (2,747).
With a crew of 2,100 from 77 countries, the floating city boasts seven 'neighbourhoods', a 10-storey slide that is the tallest at sea, 23 swimming pools, 20 dining venues, 52 trees, surf simulators, robot bartenders, a casino and climbing walls.

Mummies

Mummies

The word 'mummy' is not of Egyptian origin, but is derived from the Arabic 'mumiyah,' which means 'body preserved by wax or bitumen'; This term was used because of an Arab misconception of the methods used by the Egyptians in preserving their dead.
A mummy is a corpse whose skin and flesh have been preserved by either intentional or incidental exposure to chemicals, extreme cold, very low humidity, or lack of air when bodies are submerged in bogs.
Mummies of humans and other animals have been found throughout the world, both as a result of natural preservation through unusual conditions, and as cultural artifacts to preserve the dead.
The best known mummies are those that have been deliberately embalmed with the specific purpose of preservation, particularly those in ancient Egypt, where not only humans but also crocodiles and cats were mummified.
Ancient Greek historians record that the Persians sometimes mummified their kings and nobility in wax, though this practice has never been documented in Egypt.
The body of a Persian Princess which surfaced in 2004 in Pakistans mummy had a nature which turned out to have been forged.
In China, preserved corpses have been recovered from submerged cypress coffins packed with medicinal herbs.
Although Egyptian mummies are the most famous, the oldest mummies recorded are the Chinchorro mummies from northern Chile and southern Peru.
Also among the oldest is Uan Muhuggiag which is a place in the central Sahara, and the name of the mummy of a small boy found there in 1958 by Professor Fabrizio Mori. The mummy displays a highly sophisticated mummification technique, and at around 5,500 years old is older than any comparable Ancient Egyptian mummy.
The monks of Palermo in Sicily began mummifying their dead in 1599, and gradually other members of the community wished to have their bodies preserved as a status symbol. The last person to be mummified there died in the 1920s. The Capuchin catacombs of Palermo contain thousands of bodies, many which are clothed and standing, however in many cases the preservation was not successful with only the skeleton and clothing surviving.
Many ancient civilizations believed in life after death, mummifying those who had died to guarantee the soul passage into the next life. Different civilizations had their own rituals to that end. Some believed that the dead lived on in the tomb, while others thought of the dead as having gone to a blessed afterworld in some far-distant place. That being the case they provided for both worlds, elaborate preparations for the afterlife been made in the preservation of the dead.

Linda Hadad illegal drug use and sexual relationships with inmates at the Volusia County

Florida lawyer disbarred after admitting to rampant drug use, sex with clients behind bars

//
Linda Hadad (Clockwise from left: October 2015, November 2015, August 2015, 2010 and July 2015), 42, a former public defender in Volusia County who became a criminal defense attorney, at one point even spoke with an inmate who she was both representing and having a sexual relationship with about injecting meth. The inmate, Steven Sullivan, said the drug would make the two have better sex. The Florida Bar said in a statement; 'Hadad engaged in a pattern of misconduct that included illegal drug use and sexual relationships with clients. 'She had inappropriate intimate relationships with inmates at the Volusia County jail while she represented them, and engaged in inappropriate phone calls, which were routinely recorded by the jail.'

Florida lawyer disbarred over sex with clients, drug use

The Florida Bar announced Friday that Daytona Beach public defender Linda Dawn Hadad had been disbarred.

A Florida lawyer who had sex with her clients at a jail and used cocaine, crack, ecstasy and other drugs lost her law license, state bar officials said.
Daytona Beach public defender Linda Dawn Hadad, 43, was disbarred because she “engaged in a pattern of misconduct that included illegal drug use and sexual relationships with clients,” the Florida Bar announced in a statement Friday.
Hadad, who had been practicing in the state since 2002, had sex with two Volusia County Jail inmates so much that the warden cut down on her access to the attorney visitation area, according to court filings. She also had phone sex with inmates, the documents showed.
She admitted she took Xanax, Adderall, oxycodone and Lortabs with no prescription and also used cocaine, crack, ecstasy, marijuana, meth and acid, according to court documents cited by WFTV. Investigators said she rented cars for an inmate in exchange for drugs.
During one phone call to the jail, Hadad tried to contact a domestic violence victim on behalf of an inmate who had a no-contact order, the filings said. She also failed to show up or appeared late to her client’s court appearances and neglected at least five clients’ cases, according to the documents. Investigators said she even moved her law office without telling her clients.

Florida lawyer Linda Hadad Disbarred Over Sex With Inmates, Drug Use

Florida lawyer Linda Hadad was arrested for a DUI in 2010. Things only snowballed from there. The former public defender was recently disbarred for allegedly using pretty much every drug under the sun, and reportedly getting intimate with two inmates.
Florida Bar records show Linda Hadad admitted to using cocaine, crack ecstasy, pot, crystal meth and acid, as well as Xanax, Adderall, oxycodone and Lortab, without valid prescriptions.
She admitted she used her credit card to rent a vehicle for a man who repaid her with prescription pills and crack.
Records also said Hadad admitted to mixing business with pleasure at the jail by using her attorney access to have personal visits with two inmates, Steven Sullivan and Brandon Carson.
According to records, during a phone call, Carson talked about kissing her during their next visit, and when Hadad was asked about it, she answered, “He did kiss me one time.”
Records show during one call, Hadad told Carson, “I can’t wait to touch your (expletive). We will have to get my sex toy, too.”
And they show she told Sullivan during a call, “I miss phone sex.”
The records went on to describe sexually graphic conversations between Hadad and Sullivan.
After Hadad was questioned at length by the Florida Bar last year, she was arrested four times for driving without a license and fleeing from police.

Republican Ted Cruz Blame it on the Voters of Indiana or Blame it on The Peekaboo The Exit Game

Republican Ted Cruz Blamed it on the voters of Indiana for his sudden exit facing Donald Trump after crushing defeat.

Is The Indiana Primary Winner Take All? The Delegate Allocation Could Make Or Break Donald Trump

Yes. Make.

If Trump comes out ahead, he would get all the state's 57 delegates. That's because the Indiana primary is winner-take-all, both the at-large delegates and at the congressional district level.

Yes. He did.

To be clear, this rule just applies to Republicans. The Democrats, like always, award their delegates proportionally. For that party, here are 83 pledged delegates up for grabs in Indiana. Like many states, they award some of their delegates by congressional district; 56 will be allocated this way. The remaining 27 are split based on the statewide vote. There's a 15 percent threshold at both the district and statewide level — something that shouldn't affect either Clinton or Sanders. They're only four percentage points awayfrom each other. Clinton is slightly ahead.

Goodbye Mr. Cruz.
